Nenad Gorgiev – Regional Director / ASF Staff Coach

Nenad Gorgiev, a native of Macedonia, studied physical education at the National Sports Acadey in Sofia, Bulgaria.  He has played professionally in Macedonia and semi-pro in Bulgaria and Italy.  Nenad carries a New Jersey E License and has been coaching with Matt Driver since 2005.  Nenad Won the 2007 ESSL as an assistant coach with the Atlantic Cape Community College men’s soccer team and the 2009 NJ State Cup as coach with the U16 Boys Gaetano Rage who also reached the Region 1 finals.

Barry Lynch- Asst. Regional Director /ASF Staff Coach

Barry is a Welsh native, he was a full time player with Newport County’s Professional Academy where he gained first hand experience of the day to day running of a professional soccer club, both from a playing aspect but also as a coach.  Whilst at Newport County Barry was given the opportunity to train the Newport County Soccer school of excellence at the age of 17 where his love for coaching began.  Barry came to the US in 2005 and has coached all over the east coast for the last 4 years, along with his experience in America Barry has played and coached at a high level in Britain representing his countrywhilst at Newport County and coaching with English Championship club Cardiff City as an Academy Coach.  Barry holds a UEFA B License, FA Level 1 License, Brazilian National Futbol C License, NSCAARegional Diploma.  His Philosophy is that “Every player regardless of age and ability can be developed in soccer and in their life skills”.

Stuart Gore – Asst. Regional Director / ASF Staff Coach

Stuart Gore brings his professional playing experience to the Atlantic Soccer Factory. As a player, Stuart was part of the youth team with Leeds United, helping them to win the FA youth cup. He has also represented the England national team at u16 and u17 level. Stuart then attended college here in the states at the University of Montevallo, after which he return to pro soccer with UD Lorca of the 2nd division in Spain. 

As a coach Stuart has been coaching with Luton Celtic soccer club and AFC Dunstable, where in 2007 he was given the position of “Head of Coaching and Player Development”. Stuart also served as the vice chairman of the Dunstable schools soccer league in which his team won back to back titles in 2006 and 2007, winning the league cup in 2007.

He holds a UEFA B license, Level 2 in Futsal coaching and is a native of Dunstable, England.

Hadley Winthrop – ASF Staff Coach

Hadley Winthrop is a Speed and Agility specialist from the UK. His ability to coach comes from years of experience at the elite competition level. He has competed at many State and National Finals, as well as having competed for Great Britain on the International circuit, travelling around the world competing, culminating in a medal at the European Championships for Sprinting and High Jump. Since then, he has turned his focus to coaching, where he has had a successful following to date. Hadley was the Head Jumps Coach of Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers Athletic club (ranked 2nd in the UK) for 2 years, as well as a lead Jumps Coach at the World renowned Loughborough University (British University and College Sport Champions). He has also coached National Record Holders, International and Olympic athletes in a variety of sports.

Hadley has turned his focus towards soccer coaching and position specific speed and agility. Having gained a UK Level 2 in soccer coaching, as well as numerous other qualifications, he aims to give clubs and individuals the performance they have been looking for, with training the mind as well as the body.

Matt Frey – ASF Staff Coach

Matt Frey grew up in Maryland where he was a standout player at North Caroline High School. After finishing a remarkable High School career, he then stepped into the college level where he attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. There, Matt continued his success in becoming a Three-Time Commonwealth Conference Second Team recipient as well as a One-Time Commonwealth Conference First Team member. Between 1999 and 2006, Matt played club soccer for Concord Roma out of Wilmington, DE, where he helped lead the team to the Eastern Regional Tournament 6 times by winning the Delaware State Cup 6 out of his 7 years. In 2007 and 2008 Matt was part of the Atlantic City Diablos, as they challenged for the Eastern Conference Title in the National Premier Soccer League.  Matt also competed in the Bajan Summer Games 2008, in Barbados, where he represented Team USA.  Matt has worked under Matt Driver as a staff coach for the last 5 years and holds a USSF D License.

Charlie Dolby - ASF Staff Coach

Charlie’s involvement incoaching first started off at the David Beckham Academy, her role as a coach was to lead and deliver structured coaching for 5-16yr olds both male and gemale players.  Charlie has represented many top level clubs as a player, starting at the Kent Magpies LFC for two years before moving on to the Charlton Ladies Academy through a scholarship system awarded by London Leisure College.  From Charlton she most recently has been playing for Millwall Ladies.  Charlie’s biggest achievement as a player was being part of the London Cup Final for Charlton against Arsenal 2007, one of the most prestifious competitions in the womens game.

Jamie Scott - ASF Staff Coach

Jamie Scott has been involved in soccer for almost 20 years and has over 5 years of soccer coaching experience in both the UK and the USA. Born in London and raised in the South of England, Jamie played at College level and studied Leisure Marketing at Bournemouth University. Jamie holds an FA Level 2 coaching qualification and is also qualified in specialist Goalkeeping coaching.   Jamie coached at English Professional Soccer Team AFC Bournemouth for four years as part of the Youth Development Program. Jamie has coached soccer to various levels ranging from 3-18 year old players in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware since 2007.

Zara Phillips – ASF Staff Coach

Zara has participated in the highest level of football for the past 4 years for both Gillingham Ladies FC and Ebbsfleet Ladies FC, Zara currently has a FA level 1 & FA Level 2 badge and has been coaching youth for the previous 4 years in England.   Zara has spent 2 of her years coaching for Gillingham Centre Of Excellence, and ran a Saturday coaching school for girls.  Along with football, Zara studied football and sports development, and later went on to university to study sports science.

Jamie Whittle

***As bitter sweet as it is we are sorry so say that Jamie Whittle will not be back with us this year.  Jamie has had several job opportunities to join some of the Professional clubs back in the UK,  and as disappointed as we are that he is not coming back we are extremely pleased for him that he has gained the experience and knowledge by working with some of our clubs here in the US and wish him every success for the future.***

Jamie Whittle is a British National and has been playing and coaching over 15 years and currently holds a UK Level 2 Coaching Badge. He enjoyed playing at a high level in Asia for most of his career. On returning to England he began his coaching career working with Southampton FC in and around London, after which he then relocated to Bournemouth where he continued to coach with the Bournemouth FC. Jamie has been in USA for since 2008, coaching at every level from 3-5 year olds to 16-18 year olds.
