Jamie Scott – Vice President of Operations / Philadelphia Fever 1st Assistant Coach

Jamie Scott has been involved in soccer for almost 20 years and has over 5 years of soccer coaching experience in both the UK and the USA. Born in London and raised in the South of England, Jamie played at the College level and studied Leisure Marketing at Bournemouth University. Jamie holds an FA Level 2 coaching qualification and is also qualified in Goalkeeping coaching. Jamie coached at English Professional Soccer Team AFC Bournemouth for four years as part of the Youth Development Program. Jamie has coached soccer at various levels ranging from 3-18 year old players in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware since 2007. In 2012, Jamie will serve as the Philadelphia Fever’s 1st Assistant Coach.

 

Stuart Gore – Philadelphia Fury Head Coach

Stuart Gore brings his professional playing experience to the Atlantic Soccer Factory. As a player, Stuart was part of the Leeds United Youth Team, helping them win the FA Youth Cup. He also represented England’s national team at u16 and u17 levels. Stuart then attended college here in the states at the University of Montevallo, after which he returned to pro soccer with UD Lorca of the 2nd division in Spain. 

As a coach Stuart has been coaching with Luton Celtic soccer club and AFC Dunstable, where in 2007 he was given the position of “Head of Coaching and Player Development”. Stuart also served as the vice chairman of the Dunstable Schools Soccer League in which his team won back to back titles in 2006 and 2007, winning the league cup in 2007.

He holds a UEFA B license, Level 2 in Futsal coaching and is a native of Dunstable, England. In 2012, Stuart will serve as the Philadelphia Fever’s Head Coach.

 

Nenad Gorgiev – AC Crusaders 1st Assistant Coach

Nenad Gorgiev, a native of Macedonia, studied physical education at the National Sports Acadey in Sofia, Bulgaria.  He  played professionally in Macedonia and at the semi-pro level in Bulgaria and Italy.  Nenad carries a New Jersey E License and has been coaching with Matt Driver since 2005.  Nenad Won the 2007 Eastern States Soccer League (ESSL) as an assistant coach with the Atlantic Cape Community College men’s soccer team and the 2009 NJ State Cup with the U16 Boys Gaetano Rage who also reached the Region 1 finals. In 2012, Nenad will serve as the AC Crusaders 1st Assistant Coach.

George Hobbins – Philadelphia Fever/AC Crusaders Goalkeeper Coach

George Hobbins brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Atlantic Soccer Factory.  George has been in the USA all his life and has worked with many South Jersey soccer clubs including: Washington Township Soccer, New Jersey State Youth Soccer, Camden County Collage, Overbrook Regional High School, Rutgers University, Gateway Regional High School, Audubon High School and most recently he was named as head coach of the Washington Twp Girls High School Team.  George collected many awards during his coaching careers such as Rutgers University coach of the year, National Junior College All-American Goalkeeper and Camden County College Charles Wolverton Award for an Outstanding Athlete.  George holds a NSCAA Level II Goalkeeping Regional Diploma , and a U.S.S.F B License. In 2012, George will serve as the Philadelphia Fever’s Goalkeeper Coach.

 

 

Steven Steinberg- ASF Staff Coach

Steven hails from Cherry Hill, NJ, where he started his soccer career with the Cherry Hill United Soccer Club at six years of age.  For Cherry Hill High School East, he started on the varsity squad for three years.  In his junior year, 2002, the Philadelphia Inquirer noted Steven as a “key midfielder” involved in the team’s runs for the State Cup Championships.  Along with his high school team, Steven traveled to Germany in the summer of 2003 to participate in a series of friendly matches against the youth teams of several professional clubs.  While doing all of this, Steven managed to play club-ball with the South Jersey Barons U-16 and U-17 squads and participated in the Super Y-League in 2002.  He was featured on the all South Jersey squad for the Maccabi Games in Richmond, VA, then again in Miami, FL, and a third time in Philadelphia, PA.  While studying Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering at Lafayette College, Steven continued to play soccer intramurally for 4 years.  To this day, Steven refuses to slow down.  If you look hard enough, you can still find him playing local pickup games in the area.  Steven is a USSF Licensed coach.

 

 

Julian Fernandez- ASF Staff Coach

Julian is a native of Galloway, NJ and brings a taste of local talent to the ASF staff. He played  for Matt Driver at the AC Diablos and had an extensive and successful playing career in the South Jersey area. Julian was a stand-out player at Absegami High School where he was an All-Conference Cape Atlantic League Player. Julian moved onto the college level at Rutgers-Camden in 2007 before transferring to Chestnut Hill College where he is currently captaining the squad.  He is a Two Time CACC All-Academic Team honoree at Chestnut Hill. Julian holds an NSCAA Regional Diploma and is in the process of obtaining his USSF D license.

 

Bill O’Neill

Bill brings his 30 years of playing and coaching soccer experience to the ASF team.  Bill resides in Jenkintown, PA with his wife, Terry and their 3 children and is currently the Head Coach of the Abington Friends School Girls Varsity Soccer team.  Bill was recently inducted to the Southeastern PA Soccer Hall of Fame; he had an illustrious playing career that included honors at George Washington HS and Glassboro (now Rowan) University.  At Glassboro, Bill captained the team to an NCAA Division III National Championship in 1990 in that same year he achieved All Region and All Conference honors as a 4 year starter at GSC/Rowan.   His playing career continued in the professional ranks, after college, while playing for the Philadelphia Freedom. Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern University in Early, Elementary and Special Education, Magna Cum Laude and currently holds a USSF D license.

 

 

Dan Platt – Director of Goalkeeping

Dan comes to ASF from Guildford in the South of England; Dan specializes in Goalkeeping coaching and has been developing goalkeepers in the UK since 2008. Along with his goalkeeping licenses Dan also holds an FA Level 2 coaching certificate. At the age of 21 Dan has accumulated a lot of soccer knowledge and is looking to gain more experience to add to his promising coaching career by coaching in America.  He has been a Goalkeeper his whole playing career, and played for Chelsea FC’s youth squad. After leaving Chelsea, Dan played semi-pro soccer at Walton & Hersham. In 2012, Dan will serve as Director of Goalkeeping for ASF.

 

 

Richard Punt – Assistant GM

 

Richard Punt is in his first year with Atlantic Soccer Factory and brings with him a wealth of coaching experience from England as well as Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Born in Worcestershire, England Rich played college soccer for Glamorgan University as well as semi professionally for Ledbury Town FC. He holds a degree from Glamorgan in Sport Psychology. Rich currently holds qualifications with the English FA and plans to receive his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma in the summer.

Rich worked throughout Herefordshire, England, initially with Arsenal Soccer schools and then with Football 4 All, where he was also Head Coach of the U13 boys Academy team. Rich also worked in the academy of current the Premier League team West Bromwich Albion. There, he trained the U11 and U13 boys. In 2007, Rich moved to Pennsylvania and worked with players ranging from 3-18 years old. In 2009, he moved to New Jersey, where he worked with a number of teams located in Summit, NJ as well as Vineland, NJ and Branchburg, NJ. With these teams he won a number of league and tournament championships. Rich came to ASF to take position as Head Coach for the Philadelphia Flash women’s minor league team.

 

Matt Rice – ASF Staff Coach

 

Matt Rice is a new coach to ASF, arriving from St. Albans North of London. Matt recently earned a degree in Sports Coaching and Development at Southampton Solent University, also located in England. While he was in Southampton, Matt gained coaching experience with Southampton FC. Matt acquired coaching qualifications from English FA with both Level 1 and 2, as well as certification in S.A.Q. Level 1. The bulk of his coaching experience comes through coaching for St. Albans FC with various age ranges, but focused mostly with U12’s.

 

 

Leanne Champ – Philadelphia Fever Player/Assistant Coach

 

Leanne began her soccer career with the Millwall Lionesses, another English football club. She spent nine years with the Lionesses before joining the Arsenal Ladies in 2001. During her six seasons with Arsenal, she won five Premier League Titles, two FA Cups and two League Cups. Leanne has also represented England at U16, U19 and senior levels. Leanne rejoined Millwall Lionesses in the 2008 season, where she has had continued success by winning the Southern League Division Title. Leanne continued to play at Millwall up until the 2011 season.

For the past six years she has coached in primary schools in her area, running her own after-school soccer clubs.Leanne holds a FA Level 2 Football Coaching badge, FA Level 2 Goalkeeping and also the FA YouthModule 1. Leanne is currently working on earning her UEFA B Coaching License.

 

 

Lucas Loya – ASF Staff Coach

 

Lucas Loya will began his first year working with ASF this upcoming season. Born in Blackburn, England and brought up in the North-West of England, Lucas played at the University of Lancaster University on the 1st-team level. During his time at Lancaster, Lucas studied Sports Coaching & Athletic Performance. He earned his coaching qualifications from the English FA at both Level 1 and Level 2, and received emergency aid course and child safety certifications. Lucas started his coaching career at his local FA Charter Standard Football Club in his England hometown, prior to Lancaster. Lucas was then hired as a soccer coach for a premier upstate New York Summer Camp between 2008-2011. Lucas was involved in leading and assisting in coaching sessions, in addition to working with various levels between the ages of 5-15. Lucas’s role made him responsible for teaching/coaching, planning and implementing their soccer program.

 

 

David Hughes – ASF Staff Coach

 

David Hughes is a new member of the Atlantic Soccer staff this year, but will join with great enthusiasm and experience. He has a strong playing & coaching background in soccer, having played for England’s Carlisle United Center of Excellence and represented Cumberland County Schools. David also represented England’s Workington AFC Youth & Reserve teams. David obtained his coaching qualifications through the English FA, and gained high quality coaching experience through working with English Professional Soccer Team Carlisle United FC for three seasons as part of the Center of Excellence program. David also possesses an in depth knowledge of Coaching & Sport Performance, having completed a BA (Honors) Degree in the discipline at the University of Cumbria.
