1 on 1 Training

Frequently Asked Questions for our 1 on 1 Training Program

Q.  Why would I want personal soccer training?
A.  There are limited resources (coach’s time, practice sessions, etc.) available to master your game and take it to new levels. Similarly to individual sports like tennis, gymnastics and swimming, in which athletes have professional coaches outside of team practices to help enhance their skills.

Q.  How can I maximize the efficiency of my session?
A.  Before you show up for your first lesson, your coach should already know something about your game and, therefore, your strengths and weaknesses. The coach should understand what you need to work on and how you can improve. You should have described your game or even been viewed by the coach before your first session, so that he/she is familiar with your game. During the lesson, ask for more information if your coach tells you something you don’t understand. When communicating valuable information about the game, good coaches have a knack for doing it with vivid examples, memorable catchphrases, or even gimmicky techniques.

Q.  What should my player bring to their session?
A.  Players need to arrive in clothing suitable for soccer training, soccer shirt or t-shirt, shorts or wind pants, socks and soccer cleats or soccer style training shoes. Shin guards will not be necessary for 1 on 1 training. Please also make sure they bring a drink to last them the duration of the training session, any medication they may require and sunscreen if required.

Q.  What is the teaching style of the training sessions?
A.  With each coach it varies. After a discussion of goals with the athlete, we can adjust the style to fit his/her needs. If being pushed is best for the player, then that is what will happen, or if a more relaxed approach is best, then that is the approach taken. Its best to discuss with your coach prior to the first session so it can help them help you.

Q.  How can I pay?
A.  We accept cash and personal check on the day of the session or you can pay via PayPal on our website. In the event of a return check, a return check fee of $15.00 will be charged on top of the tuition fee. It is important that players arrive on time for their scheduled session. If a player is sick, please call your coach at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled start time.

Q.  Where does training take place?
A.  We can use any City park or soccer field. If you have a large enough yard, we can use that for training. When setting up the session consult with your trainer to organize the best place to hold the session.

Q.  Can I stay and watch?
A.  Of course! Parents are encouraged to stay and watch their players training session. Any questions you may have please direct them to your coach at the end of the training session, it is important that players focus on the training for the scheduled time they are with our coaches.

Q.  My player likes to be in goal, can you offer this specific skill?
A.  All of our coaches are skilled in all aspects of the game, when organizing your 1 on 1 session make sure and let us know what positions your player plays so we can assign the appropriate coach that fits your need and can help get the most out of your player.

Q.  How will I know my player is progressing?
A.  After each session feel free to talk to the coaches to see how your player is progressing.
