Frequently Asked Questions for Employment with Atlantic Soccer Factory

Q.  How long are the work contracts?
A.  ASF offers European coaches the opportunity to come to the US to coach for two different durations. The majority of our staff come over for a 9 month period from March until November. We offer a shorter contract from July to November, however, availability will be limited depending on the number of 9 month applicants we receive.

Q.  What will it cost to come the the US?
A. ASF provides an extremely competitive compensation packages which includes your accommodation, and transport,. You will be responsible for booking your visa interview at cost, you will provide a recent police background check, and you will be responsible for your health insurance for your time in the US; typically costing $200 for the duration of your contract.

Q.  What do I receive from ASF as part of my employment contract?
A.  In addition to your H2B visa, ASF will provide each individual with the following:
Accommodation for the duration of your stay. Vehicles to travel to and from your work locations. Quality Adidas ASF apparel. An incredibly competitive pay rate – including a seasonal bonus scheme second to none, and ongoing coaching development led by our team of senior coaching staff.

Q.  Where will I stay?
A.  ASF has housing to accommodate all staff that arrive from out of the country, they are all fully furnished. Each accommodation will house several of our ASF staff and you will become part of the community during your stay with us. ASF operates out of three main states on a year-round basis: Pennsylvania, Delaware, and our main office in New Jersey; you may be placed in any one of  these regional locations. During summer camp season you may be required to work in other States for week long camps.

Q.  Will I need to drive?
A.  YES. Every coaching location you will attend requires you to drive to get there. All of our coaching staff must be able to drive.

Q.  What will my job entail?
A.  Soccer in the North East of America is typically played primarily in the fall and spring seasons. Therefore, coaches will spend the majority of their time in these seasons working with teams of varying abilities. ASF also operates clinics and individual sessions for children of all ages during this time. The summer season switches focus to the  traditional day-camp style program where you will work with different groups each week on one of our specific camps. Along with summer camps we also run up to 15 teams that compete in a summer league, all coaches will be given at least 1 team of their own to coach throughout the summer and compete against top level clubs in the Mid-Atlantic.

Q.  What will I wear?
A.  At ASF, we pride ourselves on the quality of program we provide. We look to project that image through the way we look on the field. Each coach will be provided with a full coaching apparel in order to look the part on the field.

Q.  Will I improve as a coach?
A.  YES. ASF staff will receive ongoing, weekly training to ensure they are given the tools they need to perform, but also to improve as a coach. Each person will receive our comprehensive coaching manual, filled with drills and sessions for all age groups.

Q.  What will the weather be like in the US?
A.  For 9 month candidates, you will experience all the seasons. The start of the Spring can be cold and snowy. This gradually changes throughout the season leading up to the Summertime. Summer in the North East is hot and humid with temperature in excess of 100 degrees a real possibility. As the Fall approaches, the weather cools again, and by the time you leave in November the weather will regularly be below freezing.

Q.  What do I need to work for Atlantic Soccer Factory?
A.  You must have significant experience coaching soccer and playing the game. Must currently hold or have obtained a FA coaching certificate (minimum requirement UEFA B licence part 1, or 1st 4 sport level 2 by time of visa application (typically November). Should hold a full driving licence with driving experience preferred and lastly must have a passport valid for longer than then length of the job you are applying for.
