Atlantic Soccer Factory presents “Atlantic Soccer Fitness Factory”
Atlantic Soccer Factory is proud to announce the opportunity to participate in a unique program designed by ASF Coach Michael Amoah. Michael has experience working with the UK’s top athletes at the prestigious UK Athletics Centre based in London. Michael has implemented his training philosophies with great success at Professional English Soccer Teams including Barnet FC and Luton Town FC.
Michael comes to ASF as a recent graduate from London Metropolitan University with a degree in Sports Science and Coaching. He has been involved with soccer and many other sports for many years as a competitor and as a coach/trainer. Recently, he has worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Barnet FC where his focus was on physical and physiological developments of an athlete for elite sport performance. He has an abundance of experience working with youth athletes, training and educating them on topics of exercise physiology, sports nutrition and sports training principals. Michael holds an FA Level 2 License and a UK Athletics Level 1 Coaching License.
ASF Physical Training:
The program is designed around the physical needs of a soccer player. High fitness levels maximize athlete performance. Being “fit” is not only a product of conditioning, strength, agility, speed; but also proper nutrition and eating habits.
The program includes all physical aspects of the game and will help the player gain an edge over other competitors. This advantage could be the difference in a player winning a loose ball, reacting first to a rebound, or using body strength to protect the ball. This training can also help prevent injury to players with improved conditioning.
What will this program include?
The program is divided into three different aspects of soccer related athleticism. The three topics are “Soccer Acceleration”, “Strength and Conditioning” and “Agility, Balance and Co-ordination”.
After assessing the level of athleticism, this section will focus on improving speed and reaction time. Players will be taught the fine techniques of sprinting and also reactions of a player using the same exercises’ that Olympic athletes have perfected.
Strength & Conditioning:
Age specific strengthening exercises are implemented to ensure the young player’s body develops appropriately.
Conditioning activities ensure a player remain at peak fitness in the off season.
Soccer Agility, Balance and Co-ordination:
This is designed to improve a player’s ability to move and change direction of body position. This is imperative for a good soccer player and improves a players’ all round game, along with balance and co-ordination that will enhance a player’s skill level.
